Give young people a voice – locally and globally. Invite a UNESCO youth ambassador for youth-to-youth dialogue.

A voice for Young People

UNESCO Youth Ambassadors

Being a UNESCO Youth Ambassador means helping to promote essential values such as global citizenship, sustainable development, and intercultural understanding. UNESCO’s ASP network in Denmark has Youth Ambassadors to give young people a voice and the opportunity to engage in dialogues on the UNESCO values and UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and give them the chance to talk about that they are most passionate about. The Youth Ambassadors create dynamic learning experiences, enabling students to gain knowledge and motivation to take action for a better world.

  • Inspire and motivate young people to take action for a sustainable future.
  • Foster understanding of global citizenship and shared responsibility.
  • Provide space for dialogue, reflection, and active learning through presentations and workshops.

Who Are We?

We are UNESCO Youth Ambassadors who convey UNESCO’s values and principles to other students at SDG schools through peer-to-peer engagement. By doing so, we help foster knowledge, engagement, and motivation to work with UNESCO’s values and the Sustainable Development Goals.

We offer a unique opportunity to develop a broader understanding of the world around us. Through our presentations and workshops, we create spaces for reflection and provide tools for action in our own way. Our focus is on the Danish UNESCO ASP school network. As students at a UNESCO ASP school ourselves, we travel to schools across the country to share our knowledge and experiences and to start dialog.

1. How to Invite a Youth Ambassador to Your School

There are 16 Youth Ambassadors from different schools across Denmark. If you wish to book a Youth Ambassador, please fill out our online registration form. We will then try to find ambassadors close to your school who can visit. They always visit in teams of at least two.

2. Practical Arrangements and Expectations

All schools in the UNESCO ASP network can request a visit from the Youth Ambassadors. The school covers the ambassadors’ travel and meal expenses, but the visit itself is free of charge.

It is important to keep in mind that the Youth Ambassadors are young people who communicate in the same way as your own students. Please be patient and ensure clear expectations and guidelines so that the visit fits into the students’ school and daily lives.

3. How to Become a Youth Ambassador

Are you interested in becoming a UNESCO Youth Ambassador? The Danish UNESCO Team controls an application process each spring. All Danish students who are interested in becoming an ambassador can apply. The team is selected on personal motivation and to ensure diversity in the team. If you have any questions about the team, please contact the national coordinator.
